BonaireSaver is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are. BonaireSaver operates in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act BES (Wbp BES).
1. Who we are
BonaireSaver is a deals and coupons website for Bonaire, operated by an individual based on Bonaire. You can reach us at bonairesaver@outlook.com.
2. What data we collect
We only collect data that you provide to us directly. This includes:
- Your first name
- Your email address
- Your interest categories (optional, e.g. restaurants, hotels)
- For businesses: your business name, contact name, phone number and deal details
We do not collect any sensitive personal data such as payment information, ID numbers or health data.
3. Why we collect your data
We collect your data for the following purposes:
- Newsletter: to send you weekly deals and offers from local businesses on Bonaire — only if you have given your explicit consent.
- Deal submissions: to process and publish deals submitted by businesses, and to contact the submitting business if needed.
We do not use your data for any other purpose than what is stated above.
4. Legal basis
We process your personal data based on your explicit consent. You give this consent by ticking the newsletter checkbox when signing up. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing.
5. How we store your data
Your data is stored securely through our email marketing provider (Brevo or Mailchimp). We do not store personal data on our own servers beyond what WordPress requires for standard website operation. We retain your data for as long as you are subscribed to our newsletter. Once you unsubscribe, your data is deleted.
6. Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties. The only exception is our email marketing provider (Brevo or Mailchimp), which processes your data on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy policy and data processing agreements.
We never share your contact details with the businesses listed on BonaireSaver.
7. Your rights
Under the Wbp BES you have the following rights:
- Right of access: you can request an overview of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to correction: you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to deletion: you can ask us to delete your personal data.
- Right to withdraw consent: you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
To exercise any of these rights, send an email to bonairesaver@outlook.com. We will respond within 4 weeks.
8. Cookies
BonaireSaver uses standard WordPress cookies for basic website functionality. We also use Google Site Kit, which may place analytics cookies. These cookies do not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
